HIDDEN PATHS - Walking Historical Kyoto updates on works in progress and current projects.

HIDDEN PATHS - Walking Historical Kyoto has been busy recently! There haven't been any new blog posts for a couple of weeks but that doesn't mean that things haven't been active in other areas of the media.

HIDDEN PATHS' Phillip Jackson is a regualr contributor to the U.K.'s talkRADIO show 'The Unexplained With Howard Hughes' on Sunday nights from 10pm (U.K. time, Monday mornings Japan time). Last week Phillip was discussing the new UFO Lab in Fukushima with host Howard Hughes, and the week before talking about the Obon Festival and some of the unique features of the festival that happen in Kyoto, most notably the Gozan no Okuribi fires on the mountains around Kyoto. Unfortunetly, and understandably, the fires were on a much smaller scale this year (which meant that the legend of having the light of the fires reflecting in your cup of sake to bring on good health was a near on impossible achievement) but hopefully come next year we'll be able to celebrate Obon in its fullest once again.
